Carving Ideas for Wooden Gifts: Mr. Bunny Guide

by Wooden Smile 11 Jun 2024

How about gifting a Mr. Bunny in a trench coat to your friend? This would be a great idea, a wooden gift made by your own hands, unique and heartfelt. This blog will bring Mr. Bunny styling ideas and guidelines.

Step 1: Choose wood and sketch

First, prepare a piece of wood, basswood is the most suitable, the size of the wood block is 5 x 5 x 15cm. Sketch the front and side view of Mr. Bunny, which will also determine the effect of your final carving.

Step 2: Cutting

Saw along the outline of the pattern you drew with a saw. If you don't know how to use a sliding saw, you can saw little by little, and then use a knife to saw little by little until you make the outline. Although this step will be more difficult, but more practice will make you more skillful.

Step 3: Finalize

Once the prototype is finished, start using the carving knife to fix the details. You can choose to color it or keep the original wood color. Eventually a wooden gift is complete. Please refer to the previous blog for detailed carving process and techniques.

The first time you carve a wooden gift, it is recommended that you do not choose a large coefficient of difficulty, the final failure will instead hit you with that passionate confidence, and finally give up, it is recommended that you choose a moderate difficulty.
